At KUFSIM, the campus simulation center, nursing students gradually learn the concrete demands of clinical practice. The required course Ready for the Ward introduces essential routines, workflows, and core competencies – helping to reduce uncertainty and build confidence before entering the workplace. A key component of the training is interprofessional collaboration.

Students train alongside practicing nurses and physicians. The recorded material then forms the basis for video debriefing. Together with instructors, participants reflect on their actions, communication, and decision-making processes – from multiple perspectives and supported by expert feedback. A key advantage: the SIMStation Pro is mobile. The system can be set up and dismantled within minutes and is used across various training rooms on campus. It is also regularly transported to the district hospital in Kufstein to conduct in-situ simulations directly in the clinical environment – building an essential bridge between education and real-world practice.
